For a while now, we have noticed that the Surface Pro inside the kiosk stand had its internal cooling fan running all day long at full power, and it eventulally killed our beloved tablet ;(

The cause of this was the enclosure of the tablet inside the stand, not being able to cool itself down with fresh air. After looking through the thermal images we took of the kiosk stand with a new tablet inside, we found that the hottest place was the top right corner of the tablet, where its internal fan was located. So we drilled some holes in the back of the Kiosk Stand and screwed on a 5V computer fan, getting power from the tablet.

So far, the fan is working great at keeping the Kiosk Stand cool and most importantly, the internal fan of the Surface Pro hasn't run as hard ever since.
